After several hours of playing in the frontiers of Destiny you might want to go back inside the city to relax for awhile. What are some of the highlights of the city that might interest you to take a break from exploring the wilderness? Maybe you just want to go to your in game house or apartment to store stuff; or get an idea what is happening around the city for fun. Perhaps you just came to the city to sell your unwanted loot from the Fallen then go shopping for a new ship? With the last city as a safe place for your guardian to unwind a little from the threats of the wild; what do you think the city has to offer for the guardians?

Edited by Tactical Dogg0: 5/10/2013 4:23:13 AMIn all seriousness: -Armour customization stores -Weapon customization stores -Ammo and weapon stores -Space-ship repair/customization yards -Safe storage units -Mini-games like poker, black-jack, etc. -Bars to meet up with people, not just one popular area which might cause lag. I'm not too sure about housing. Hundreds of thousands of people are going to be playing Destiny and Bungie has to squeeze them under an orb in a city with limited space. Housing would be good but I'd be happy with a storage unit for my weapons.. ..or a closet under a stair-case. *cue Harry Potter music*

Crime. I want to have radiant criminal-catching quests.

Hopefully as little filler as possible. Each feature should have its counterpart manifested in-universe. Likely the tower for mission select/ travel and spaceship customization, clan/faction hall for group contacts, armory and character customization, and finally an arena or some virtual training battlefield for competitive pvp. Fast traveling to and from these spaces should be an option as well as walking through the interstitial scenery, to overhear the usual NPC chatter or bump into players waiting for friends or not sure of what to do next. But putting a ton of work into a giant baroquely detailed space or russian nesting dolls of spaces where no combat happens is a waste and tedious to sludge through to get to the meat of the game. People say they want heaps and loads of details but end up complaining later when they realize the most enjoyable parts are buried in layers of clutter. It's not a matter of you guys setting your hopes unrealistically it's not recognizing game design principles. The City is somewhat of a replacement for navigating to game modes solely through start menus. Yes, it will be awesome scenery and immersive, but it will also need to be lean to serve its intended purpose.

I have this weird feeling that in the early stages of the game, we literally have to walk back to the city unless if we log off in an unsafe area we will log back in and all our things gone or we end up dead. I dunno just a feeling

Pike Racing, Gambling, PvP, trading, story telling.

I would like to see certain buildings or areas like a market, cantina, arena, armory, ship yard, etc. that way we have more to do than just walking around and going to or in game home.

A minigame that's just a pokemon clone.

some manly one on one unarmed fights in the cantina

Great question...what do Guardians do to blow off steam? How about hitting up the cantina to play some cards? Trading some intel on a rival faction and hanging out at faction HQ to meet some new members

If we get a room in the Tower I'll go there and see what I can do. I'd modify weapons, upgrade anything I could, purchase things, explore the City, watch the sunset/sunrise, and many other things.
