Seriously it sucks. I just wish sometimes I could be a free to play or RPG game, my life so much easier. The problem with being an FPS is you are developed with an expected guilt to the games you outsell.. You are supposed to feel bad for RPGs and indie games, and how they have to work so hard to get published and make money. It would be great if I was an indie game I could just blame all my problems on big FPSs. Another thing that sucks about being an FPS is affirmative action. Equally qualified games who are "new" and "interesting" will get more advertisements, and get more money, so the market appears "diverse" and a bunch of other unfair advantages based on genre alone. Another thing that sucks is the rampant racism against generic big FPSs. RPG on FPS crime is so much higher than vise versa but if it's FPS on RPG crime it's a "hate crime" and you have bad press conferences and poor reviews. Also it's acceptable for RPG people to call me "CODclone9001" but i call an RPG "competition" I'm assumed a horrible game whose devs and publishers hate the customers. And when I do work hard and become successful as an FPS, people disregard my accomplishments and years of work and say its easy for FPSs because we have so much funding. It hurts my feelings. I also wish I wasn't an FPS. Being an FPS is tough these days with publishers and the media trying to take our rights and equality away. And when we get old the devs still milk us dry, not to mention we get no DLC rights. It always has to be "on-disc." Being generic is also hard these days. I can't have any generic pride unlike the indie games. When I tell them I'm proud of my development cycle they say their is nothing to be proud of being generic. It shames me and makes me wish I could have a nice Kickstarter like them and not be considered a bigot. Life overall would be much better if I was an indie RPG. But oh well, guess ill have to tough it out.
