Why don't people talk about CoD killers?

I remember early Halo 2 to early Halo 3 essentially every shooter released was considered the "Halo killer". I've seen the words "Halo killer" plastered on gaming websites and game magazines at least once a week. Everything from Killzone to things like Gears of War were dubbed the Halo killer and were supposed to take the crown as the must play game. So with how enormous CoD has become why doesn't it get the same treatment? I have never seen a single game to be dubbed the "CoD killer". Are gaming journalists not sick of CoD yet? I think maybe the talk of CoD killers could possibly start the downfall of CoD. The games are already getting monotonous to the point where I'm sure the game will eventually kill itself like all other successful Activision games(see Tony Hawks Pro Skater and Guitar Hero). I'm just curious as to why we don't see the words "Cod Killer" pop up all that often?
