It's the same reason autodialogue is [I]such[/I] a fantastic system. In general, video games are too videogamey. Books as well. There's just too much getting in the way of artistic integrity. The next time I write a book I will write 400 blank pages because putting words on would constrict my integrity and make it too videogamey. OT: Boss fights can either be done incredibly well or incredibly poorly. Most of the time I prefer a boss "wave" of sorts, followed by a cinematic where the main antagonist is defeated. Otherwise it just ends up feeling underwhelming to me.
