This is utterly ridiculous. If you outlaw swords, then law abiding citizens will be the only ones affected. Criminals won't care, and they'll be reassured because they know that citizens won't be carrying swords, allowing them to commit sword-crime with impunity! The common household sword is a vital part of our ability to protect ourselves and our homes against criminals! Look at Acre - King Richard took the swords off the people there, and look what happened!
