From the entire series.
IMO Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising was a damn bitch. Nanomachines my ass! He had an awesome song though.

Edited by Trollheim: 4/22/2013 2:37:49 PMAfter seeing a video on youtube on how to cheese Raging Raven, I feel foolish including her in my top 3. Never thought of doming her with the railgun at the start of the fight, lol.

I had a tough time with Boss in MGS3.

I can't really speak for MG and MG2, because I have yet to complete those. But, by game: In MGS1, I found Sniper Wolf to be the hardest, though only because the PSG1 is so annoying to handle. The second battle can be exploited using the Nikita, but still. In MGS2, I used to find the Harrier the hardest, since I didn't know how to dodge the carpet bomb attack. Now, I don't know. The Metal Gear Rays I guess. In MGS3, I didn't really find any of the bosses hard, but The Boss was probably the hardest. In MGS4, once again, none of them are really hard. The Laughing Octopus fight drags on a bit, so I guess I'll go with that. In Portable Ops, the final boss was probably the hardest. As for Peace Walker, in Main Ops, the second Peace Walker battle gave me trouble on my first time, but now I just find it time consuming. The real hard bosses are the mechs, AIs or monsters in Extra Ops. And in Rising, I had the most difficulty with Metal Gear Excelsus.

Edited by Trollheim: 3/18/2013 8:37:06 AMThe End is the obvious answer. Until you figure out how to defeat him, he's gotta be the most frustrating boss. Admittedly someone told me about the controller switch in MGS1 so I didn't have to deal with Psycho Mantis's BS. Vamp/Screaming Mantis were probably intended to be the same level of "WTF wat do I do?" but they really weren't, maybe I was just smarter, or it was just more obvious, but their weakness came to me pretty quick. The hardest boss once you know how to beat them? Probably Colonel Ocelot (NOT Revolve Ocelot from MGS1, he's a joke). Going straight pistol to pistol is awful on Extreme. Fight made me wish the game had MGS4 aiming. Raging Raven is probably #2, and Chrysalis is probably #3.

The Metal Gear Ray fight was pretty tricky back in MGS2, I almost gave up to move onto MGS3. Glad I didn't though, the ending was amazing.

Any of the bosses from Peace Walker. Bosses in ALL of the other games are easily defeated with some strategy, the mechs in PW on the other hand are simply bullet (or rocket) sponges that will test your patience and your sanity.

The End. I don't know why, it just took me ages to finally get him back in 2005. "killing" him with tranqs is even worse.
