  • I don't think there will ever be "getting over it" in that people change their opinion of it. People just get apathetic. The Bioware brand is poisoned. EA has already started shutting down or renaming all the studios they decided to slap the Bioware name on. All the bad blood with EA doesn't help either. It's like an EA and Bioware logo on a game box scream don't buy this. For Mass Effect to come back roaring means Obsidian is developing the game and EA backs far away.

  • I guess you could say I’m over it but I will always be disappointed about it. I still can't bring myself to even play the alternate ending. Mass Effect 2 is still my favorite of the three. I am surprised about the many downloads they have developed for 3 and the multiplayer has really come a long way.

  • eh, the ending didn't really piss me off that much. It was still a great game despite it all.

Most haven't. I learned to live with it. I don't play the ending sequence anymore but I don't let the ending stop me from doing SP playthroughs anymore. Since we're talking about ME... everyone here who has ME3 should buy and play Citadel. Good stuff man. Massive amounts of fan service, new loot, Armax Arena, and the storyline is actually quite a bit of fun. If you liked the Mass Effect franchise you're only hurting yourself not playing it. Most people on the forums have agreed it is by far the best DLC and potentially the best piece of content overall in the franchise.

  • Still disappointed, but I'm not screaming it on the rooftops.

  • Shephard should have died next to Anderson and that would have been it. The crucible fires and the reapers get destroyed. The end. Starchild didn't have to come in and ruin everything.

  • Frankly, I still don't get the disappointment over the ending. Most of the complaints I've seen leveled at it were over the fact that BIOWER didn't spell out how the scene actually came together.

    • Nope. I say if the Extended Cut was the original ending, there wouldn't have been nearly as many complaints. The thing is, some people gripe over the extended cut, but honestly, can you tell me another developer that would've taken the time to do such a thing for their fans?

      • I hope we never get over it, developers should use ME3 as a textbook example of how NOT to make an ending.

      • I loved the game throughout and that included the ending. I was a huge fan of the series, but I did not allow myself to get over hyped like almost everyone else did. Although sure, I would have liked to see the consequence of more of my decisions in the past games and stuff like that, I still really liked the ending. It kept me around 5 to 10 minutes thinking and going over which of the possibilities was the best. The scenery of the battle in space was great and so was the music, especially when you choose. I have absolutely no problem with the ending and only love more Mass Effect with the final game in the trilogy. Plus, dat multiplayer.

        • You should change your title. You're implying that the ENTIRE Mass Effect fan base has a problem with the ending. I didn't and I'm part of the fan base.

No. And I have yet to finish the game because of it.. And it wasn't just the ending I didn't like, so I'm not one of those people.

        • I've accepted it, but it will always be depressing to think about. This could've been the greatest game possibly ever made, and Bioware took the easy and lazy way out and just burned it to the ground.

        • I still didn't get as much conclusion as I wish I did with the extended cut. I kind of wanted something Fallout style, that informs me of all the consequences of my actions.

I've gotten over the absolutely atrocious ending. Too bad the rest of the plot is terrible as well.

No. It was and always will be a scar on the industry. It is a matter of it being less relevant not less dreadful.

          • Ending was fine. I'm mad about the DLC costing $15 a pop and the fact that my copy shipped with a bad online pass code.

          • I still dislike the whole space magic, god child crap. But that can't be changed anymore. However, despite that, all my problems with the ending were fixed with the Extended Cut. It's not as good as what was originally meant to happen, mind, but it's tolerable.

          • I had problems with more than just the ending, but the game had (very few) good parts in it. The Extended Cut did nothing that I wanted it to (Never cared about closure, just didn't like bad writing), and then even with the obvious pandering in the game just made it seem awful. To me, Bioware has lost their touch as first it was one of their series and now the other, I don't think they will be able to make a high quality game (they would still have high profits, but the quality wouldn't be there, like CoD) until they acknowledge their mistakes.
