...in ways which will obviously result in people disliking that person? Wouldn't it be better and easier to pander to public opinion so as to be well-liked and popular at the same time? Popularity and being well-liked always has better perks than infamy and the general animosity of society.
I figured this an appropriate question to ask in light of recent.... events? If you can call them that.

People don't care. They just want to be acknowledged. Everybody wants to be special and stand out, but IMO doing so by ways which most others do, makes them blend in (by getting involved in drama for example).
