The Fallen represent "The New Monarchy"?
So....from this little excerpt from Urk in the mail sack has revealed something else about the Destiny universe "I fell in love with the Fallen all the way back in 2009. Partly because there’s just something wonderful about the idea of a nomadic race of once noble houses now scattered to the solar winds. Partly because there’s something primordial and instantly terrifying about squaring off against an unpredictable Fallen Captain, his tattered crimson cape draped over a set of four splayed and angular arms that bristle with sleek firepower"
To me it seems that they fit in the role of the new monarchy. They wear crimson, they used to be part of a noble house but aren't any more, and seem to have a ranked military system. What do you think? Who's to say that the factions only represent the guardians of the city?

 • Quite possible. I look at The Fallen as a former representation of intergalactic tyranny, who may have fallen out of power in their own galaxy. I think that The Fallen have migrated to our solar system to establish a new sector where they can build their military power in hopes of reclaiming their own galaxy. Human civilization in this case was just collateral damage, and our struggle may evolve into a war from two fronts.
