There have been several interesting takes on a talent tree or skill progression in gaming over the last few years.
Path of exile comes to mind for a long term player progression.
The instant changeability of the Diablo III system
The 3 tree version that WoW uses
What would you like to see, and how would you like it implemented?

Edited by x Sir G Omer x: 2/19/2013 4:23:38 PMHere are a few things that come to mind: - Skills should be permanent (no re-spec ability) - They would not affect a player in "Faction Wars" - PvP should be a level playing field (with the obvious exception of aesthetics, and I could go on for days about the potential here) - I would like to see at least 6-8 variances of each class. As in, my Hunter could eventually reach the end of a "branch" and have a specific title based on my choice of skill tree. Even with only 4 classes, this would allow for 26-32 different player-types to interact with throughout the universe. - Non-combat-based skill sets - vehicle stats (+ %armor on ships), squad stats (all squad speed increase), exploration stats (better loot chances), etc. - Overall, a very complex skill tree would be nice. I know they want to cater to all audiences, but it would be possible to show a skill tree of what should be followed while still allowing an advanced player to really strategize with their skill choices. Hopefully that wasn't overbearing. I have a lot of ideas...
