Law

Flood, I need help. I'm finishing high school this year, and I've decided to study law. Why? Because I'm good at conversations, I'm not too keen on math, law has some interesting subjects and the future pay is potentially good. However, I've heard that it's also rather dull.. I'm more of a creative type, the kind of person who needs to understand why something is the way it is in order to memorise it. I don't see myself as the kind of guy that just regurgitates stuff he learned in a book. Considering this, is law still a good choice?

I was in a pretty similar postion as yourself before going to uni and, whilst studying law, found some areas incredibly interesting but some were excruciatingly boring. The areas which require more critical thinking, or which were based more on the philosophy of law, were great but certain areas really didn't catch my interest and my studies probably suffered as a result. My only real advice would be to do something you know you will enjoy rather than doing something because you think it'll land a well paying job at the end of it. Not only do you spend too long studying to do something you don't enjoy but, if you don't enjoy the degree, there's a good chance that you'll not enjoy the profession afterwards.
