From the searching I've done with Destiny I've come to the conclusion that constellations play a key role in the story. The geomancy symbols they first gave us all related to constellations and now this and the connection I had with the Pleiades star cluster/constellation and the one of 7 symbol.

Definitely. I remember gestuart88 made a thread where some dots in the Bungie postcard corresponded with some constellations.
