About a year and a half ago, I wrote this poem that was inspired by Marty's "Ghosts and Glass" extended piano mix . I posted it on Facebook then, but have since wanted to share it with all of you guys. Feedback is more than welcomed, as always. :)
“Ghosts and Glass”
[Saturday, June 18, 2011]
An eternal fight for the deliverance of hope;
This cyan clad can barely take any more desperation,
For the brink of this planet’s fall is ever fleeting—
Soon to be reduced to ash and glass by these devils;
The monsters that are motivated by their “Gods”,
(The last offering to the knight of solace,)
An eternal exodus to the shores of peace;
A fate that is befalling this planet of once pure beauty,
I can’t help but feel a sense of loss—
The lives of the brothers I once was apart of;
Lonely abstractions of vain remembrances and crushed dreams,
(Taken from the most anxious of hearts,)
My duty as a currier has come to its end.
This last stand shall mark the courage of humanity—
A fight destined to be both won and lost,
Despite my inevitable end on this charred planet;
Just as how it started, this is how the world ends.
(Is the serenade of the planet’s final harmony of dissonance;)
As told by the ghosts of the gods, there will be another time,
Not through me, but through the knight of solace;
These monsters and their covenant’s resolve will eventually shatter—
Not with a whimper, but a bang.
And although our victory was close, we would not live to see it.
(The eternal and loving light of the ancients.)
Now, we belong to this desolate world:
Our body, our armor, everything—
All burned and turned to glass…
Except our courage;
A gift of hope for the salvation of life.
(And with that, humanity will rebuild.)

You know, in retrospect, I suppose it would have been best to post this at a less "frazzled" time. Opps. Haha!
