With the new update, there's a lot of changes to bnet and private groups. One of the main changes with private groups is you can now make them kind of public. Under admin tools there's options to where admins can make public topics in the group (where anyone can see them, member or not) and there's also an option to make it so that every post is public - thus making it pointless for anyone to be a "member".
With hashtags, you basically have the capability of making your own forum on this site, just by hashtagging the OP. Then you can search for posts by hashtag and find what's basically a forum of all the threads with that hashtag. So, if you want to find the flood even though it's not a forum anymore, you can search for hashtag "flood" and it shows you all the threads tagged with that.
Bungie also made it so that all the previous forums are so that all their threads are tagged with what they are. So if you seach for hashtag #Halo3 it will bring you to what is literally basically the old halo 3 forum, and any new threads with their OP tagged with #halo3. You can find threads dating back to 2006 just by searching #Halo3. So it's literally the Halo 3 forum.
You can also change the your userID (username), display name, and group names.
So theoretically I could change this groups name to fitness, make it public, and then just make sure everyone tags their threads made here with #Fitness or any threads they make on the public forum with #fitness and we would have a public fitness forum for anyone to use.
So should we do that or keep things as they are? (private group, membership, etc)

ShL, you know this is now a public thread, right? Did you mean to do that? Regardless, since it is public now, I'll comment. Make all your threads public, so all the fatasses of B.net can benefit without having to take up one of their group slots. And as long as Fraiser is still gone, I'm sure the discussion will be of decent enough quality to be made public without embarrassing the group as a whole. :-P
