Suicide grunts in Halo drop their 'sticky' grenades when killed mid-suicide.

Speaking of this, isn't the timer for the detonation of a plasma grenade started when you see the blue light emitting from it? How do the grunts run so long with the grenades attached to them?

You'd think they would only explode when they release their grip from the grenades like actual grenades and that the Grunts would just keep them held down, but if you wait long enough, they go off.
