1 ReplyHello there, Thank you for reaching out On PC, Destiny 2 now must run with BattlEye. If BattlEye install/update is broken, the game just refuses to launch (often with a brief launcher window and then nothing). Xbox app installs are affected the same way. Here’s the fastest set of fixes that have actually worked for other Xbox-app players: 1. Hard reboot + restart the BattlEye service Reboot your PC completely (not just sign out). After reboot: Press Win+R → type services.msc → Enter. Find “BattlEye Service” (or similar). Right-click → Restart. Close the Services window and try launching Destiny 2 again from the Xbox app. 2. Repair Destiny 2 from Windows / Xbox app On Game Pass / Xbox app, you “verify files” via Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Find Destiny 2 → click … → Advanced options. Click Repair. If that doesn’t help, go back and click Reset (this keeps your Bungie account data, which lives server-side). Relaunch Destiny 2 from the Xbox app so it can re-install BattlEye cleanly. If it still fails, repeat the above after another full reboot. 3. Let BattlEye update BattlEye’s own FAQ: if the launcher says “Update failed” or similar, it’s usually blocked by firewall/AV or restricted network. For one launch attempt: Temporarily disable third-party antivirus or extra firewalls. Make sure Windows Defender Firewall allows Destiny 2 and BattlEye through (or just test once with the firewall off). Try launching again so BattlEye can download its update, then re-enable your protections.
