Only played solo and this is critical…Hated it at first… then I started upgrading and I enjoyed it for a couple of days… then the apathy set in…. What’s the point… all this lurking around the map working hard to actively avoid fighting as I’m on a free kit… only to have all this grind and effort reset….judging by peak players dropping by 1/3 already I imagine many are in the same boat… bungie should have definitely tried to build the game more around solos… rook isn’t it and squad fill is miss more than hit… an option to buy planetary materials would probably help considerably… people then could actually at least play a bit more…perhaps reducing the time taken to level up would help as well…

2 RepliesNegative reviews still coming, now 11.7% negative but get this, now 32k reviews, so despite numbers dropping daily, & it being week 3, 2000 people left reviews yesterday. Lowest peak yesterday of 53k & currently lowest floor at 16k, yet reviews still coming in by the thousands to hold it at extremely positive.

3 RepliesI started enjoying Marathon when I left the Rook life and started playing with the matchmaking 3-player teams. Rook is more of the "Hop in and stock up on stuff from all the dead bodies". Play with a group of 3, even if it's matchmade, then you will start to understand the game more. Think of it like, win 2 or more gunfights with oposing teams, you get to extract, if you die then no chicken dinner. I totally agree though, Marathon needs to incorporate more for the Solo player, which it may be too late at this point, but if they added like a PvE only mode or perhaps a Shell that feels like a team of 3 (man that would be so dope, like a Juggernaut from Halo), then Marathon could actually get the player base they spent so much money on advertising trying to get.

There's a big tourney going on now, 200k twitch viewers. I thought oooooowww a big surge in interest - checked, they're all being sponsored again lol. Game has 200k viewers but only 45k ingame. All kinds of shenanigans going on with this game, they're literally burning money daily, there's adverts on terrestrial TV now, they're throwing silly money at creators, for a struggling £35 game with a dwindling (albeit slowly) playerbase.

5 RepliesSunday afternoon, peak gaming hours of the week, trials active. Destiny, twitch, 300 viewers, top of the director is a russian girl with 17 viewers. Marathon 7k viewers, top 2 are sponsored. Bungie have fallen (staring Gerard Butler)

I like the game but the more I play I start to see the flaws in it the game feels more and more like a competitive streaming platform and BUNGIE killed Destiny for a competitive audience the game been out for two Week they already holding a Marathon Cup and no doubt a hosting upcoming live stream for cryo archive knowing BUNGIE. Funny how the majority of the players that jumped ship to Marathon are the top Destiny pvp and PvE streamers and their audience. The only way to fully enjoy this game is having an actually above average good premade team because with randoms 80% of the time you going to get wiped especially now from the previous update. The game is ok and has its ups and downs but I'm not ignorant not realizing this game is going to start bleeding even more in the couple weeks after cryo archive.

Exact same experience for me. Can’t get anything done in game because it can’t decide what kind of game it wants to be

49 RepliesI wish everyone wasnt hating on this game.. is way better than whatever is popular at the moment..

12 RepliesHaving a very similar experience. Main thing is the reset looming over head. I am struggling to want to bend when I know so much is just gonna get reset. I don’t want the game to just be an extraction shooter. Make more game modes.

1 ReplyAt least you gave it a try, right? All it did was give you the ammo you needed to fire back at the ones who bought in to the hype.

18 Replies15k on steam right now, it's crashing hard. I'm sure the dev calling people unemployed virgins hasn't helped 😂
-
3 RepliesNow the twitch sponsorships have ended, 4k viewers on twitch. 1 guy has 2,4k viewers, rest are in the low hundreds. It's collapsing in real time

1 ReplyWhat a terrible swan song for a once great studio.

6 RepliesI like it, less superfluous bullshit like in Destiny easier to pick up and I feel an urge to get good. The movement and the shooting feels good, and there's a lot to discover right now. My only complaint is that I don't have enough time to play it as much as I want to, side effect of having a full time career and needing sleep.
