Sony wants to make money and an average of 77k players is a few hundred thousand players short of making money so all hands that aren't laid off will be put to marathon and destiny will get nada. That's just how it is. Sony want bungie to make them a profit

This game is so amazing, the artstyle is so unique and interesting and the gunplay just simply blows Arc Raiders out the water! I'm having a blast playing the game and the more I play the more I love it! Thank god its not some Arc Raiders carebare hugbox and is a brutal and unforgiving niche game only for the hardcore! Bungie COOKED! It was WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. #ad

If Marathon’s results aren’t as good as expected by Sony, and they need to work even harder on the game we might see D2 being neglected for a while, even beyond June. All the energy will be on the new IP until it pulls the expected revenue or dies out. But I can’t imagine a in between way.

1 ReplyThey announced changes with "Shadow and Order" coming on June 9th, for what it will be worth. For now, they're on Marathon. It had a good start, I give them that, but let's just see how long they can hold it that way... Bungie has a history with ruining content, and I doubt they can change.

They did this to themselves. I also wonder (side note) if they will literally charge silver for the Marathon Runner skins we currently see in collections? That would be such a slap in the face and tone deaf. But this is Bungie so..... If they were "free" they would have probably been out by now. So I guess that answers my question!

Edited by Racket UK: 3/8/2026 12:26:59 AMAnd how much time have you spent on d2 lol, guardian rank 2 lol, all your characters level 10, and you're asking to shut it down, maracrap has to sell 7 million copies just to break even, resident evil 9, and an indie game, has got more players, and bungo with 300 people working on maracrap couldn't get 100k at launch, and it will go down, as players get bored, then bungo will shut down, and you won't have d2 or maracrap lol. Even the game developers of slay the spire 2, are taking the p*** out of bungo , that's funny as f•••.
