Destiny // Marathon
So Destiny was killed for this game?
They completely destroyed Destiny 2 for this?
Did they take away the joy and fun of Destiny 2 for every player? (90% have quit)
Was everything that went wrong in Destiny 2 over the last 4 years made for this game?
- No good content
- Less and less content
- DLC + Seasons have become increasingly smaller
- No new craftable weapons, aka Red Borders
- Only copy and paste weapons (same weapons, just a different name)
- Only copy and paste content
- No new PvP maps
- No "new" viable weapons with good perk combos
- No new NF/Raid ideas
- They didnt even manage to create a roadmap????
- For the EOF DLC, there were only 6 Exotics? (3 weapons - 3 armor pieces, 1 per class) even though there were 12-13 before? They didnt even have any ideas for that?
If they had focused everything they did for Marathon on Destiny, "Destiny 2" could have had another 3-5 years + a good time...
then the best shooter on the market (with the best movement style, gunfights, Sounds+++) would not have died now.
Why did they sacrifice all that for this "great game" where only 8,000 players will remain in the next 3-4 weeks???

- And no matter what they bring to Destiny 2 now: it doesnt matter anymore, the players are gone and they will never come back, Destiny 2 is dead.
- Only with Destiny 3 will the "Destiny" community return. With a complete reset, no D1-D2 copy n paste content, The story has hundreds of possibilities and directions, everything new, new subclasses, new characters, SIMPLY EVERYTHING NEW.
-> I hope it will be Concord 3.0 <-
-> And I hope that Sony will finally have had enough. <-
they deserve it for what theyve done.
Maybe it has to fail like " Concord, The Day Before, Highguard " before they finally realize what they sacrificed.
The community tried to warn them for years.

8 RepliesDestiny 3 isnt going to solve anything, people need to stop that narrative. Destiny 3 by current bungie wouldn't be any good, if they have any hope to "save" the Destiny franchise, they need to drop the 2 from the title return it to just destiny as an ip whole, remove the portal and return to the director, then create new content and continue put the fate saga. No a new number on the end wont bring people back, they need to prove in good faith they wont mismanage the game again, a 3 wont fox that.

Yeah no lol. Bungies been shooting destiny in the foot numerous times way before marathon even existed. You don’t get to scapegoat an entirely different game as if Bungie hasn’t made a laundry list of issues in their ten years with the ip. I mean half of us don’t even care about the ip at this point, a D3 wouldn’t change anything cause what have they learned? They could stop marathon right now and go all in on D2 or a D3 and the skeptics will still be there. At this point I much rather they actually do new stuff over a fatigued franchise like Destiny. Time to move on yall 👏

Well said but do you think that D3 wouldn't suffer the same fate? Since Witch Queen they promised implementing updates to prevent or fix bugs quicker. Every update something is broken. "known issues" the same ones never fixed. Until they change as an organization and management D3 would suffer the same fate. I wish I could do my job half -blam!- and still have one. I will not support Marathon or the shill streamers .

That d3 talk comes from streamer brains dude. They are not living in our reality

Its what happens when you have no real competition for years you become complacent. If bungie had competition it could have pushed them to do better but unfortunately the two games that could have done thay crashed hard.

But there have been highs and lows of every expansion over the past 4 years. [i]TWQ[/i] is arguably the best installation this franchise has ever seen.[i] Season of the Witch & Season of the Wish[/i] were tremendous highlights in [i]Lightfall[/i]. The launch of [i]TFS[/i] was incredibly well received by the playerbase- just poorly managed over time. And [i]Heresy[/i] was another incredible highlight of [i]TFS[/i]. New Raids over this lifespan: [i]Vow of the Disciple Root of Nightmares Salvations Edge Desert Perpetual[/i] I understand a disdain for reprisals/overhauls, but they have been well received during this same era- [i]King's Fall Deep Stone Crota's End Garden VoG[/i] Maybe not [i]new[/i] content, but content worthy of engagement. Of equal importance here are the Dungeons we received over these expansions- [i]Duality Spire Ghosts Warlord's Vesper's Sundered Doctrine Equilibrium[/i] Again, [i]more[/i] quality content here. Rotating these with a new [i]Raid/Reprised Raid[/i] has been an incredibly sensible roadmap and strategy over the past 4 years. You're seriously going to suggest that the Raids have been lackluster? Aside from Root, the Raids have been the biggest standout for the past few years.

That said I want to make things clear for people in the real world of business. 1 Bungie was bought by Sony. 2 Bungie owns the ip of Destiny. 3 everything else they work on is now Sony! Sony wants ROI on purchase. Bungie delivered marathon. Sony unhappy with destiny’s performance required Bungie to work on something they will profit off of with a higher percentage. Destiny is now only maybe 10% of Bungie’s development cycle. Marathon is going to get 90% of invested funds to develop avenues for profit. Destiny is dead. They are putting together all of their developed content into one last package. If it is a rise of iron end of cycle of Destiny 2 only time will tell. If things are profitable for marathon and Destiny over the next 6 months we will know what Sony wants to do with Bungie! This is all speculation, but not far from business aspects of gaming world.

Yeah this made me disappointed because of EoF and Marathon it’s really impacted the game. And marathon even caused anger for some players that shadow and order got delayed till the summer, at this point this is just annoying why EoF and Marathon killed this game. Everything before EoF and Marathon really helped the game before the game was killed off several times. But honestly I agree with your suggestion and opinion because I’ve played Destiny 2 since 2017 and now it’s been majorly impacted by this really is burning me out and my friends.
