All new and returning users barred from multiplayer
It is impossible for anyone who is not already an active Destiny 2 player to verify their account to have access to the multiplayer experience, effectively locking everyone out. New accounts, long existing accounts, if they aren't already verified, there is no way to begin playing with friends. It has been like this for over a month. If you are unable to fix your sms verification feature, why aren't you creating a work-around that we can use in the meantime? Isn't this a huge loss of profits to not allow any new players to join your MMO for such a long time? Especially when your new expansion came out, and no one who isn't already an active player can access the new multiplayer content? When will a work-around be available while you develop the fix?

Is this why I’ve been locked out of crucible in portal? It is currently locked and I cannot access as a solo player. I can only get in to cruce if I’m with a fireteam. Has Bungie fixed this yet? I play cruce all time, mostly solo, so I was surprised to be locked out all of a sudden.

The SMS system has had issues since it was first introduced with no definitive fixes being implemented. The current issue is being looked into but no ETA on when that will be fixed.
