Hyenas
Did you know that hyenas are their own unique family….Hyaenidae, I always thought they looked more like dogs but they are more closely related to cats, civets and the mongoose!

1 ReplyContrary to popular belief, hyenas are successful hunters and kill more of their own food than they steal or scavenge from others. Hyenas have a higher success rate in their hunts than lions. Lions steal hyena kills more often than hyenas steal theirs.

I did not know that. I thought the same thing about them being closely related to dogs, but now you mention it, they do seem more cat-like than I had previously noticed.
