Cosmetics for play time but not bright dust
At this stage if the game why not make specific quests or have specific amounts of say GMs or crucible games ect to earn good specific cosmetics. Forget bright dust and just have a clear ingame way to earn them.

The only difference is that everyone gets to pick and choose what they spend it on and can easily just stockpile it until something they do want is available for it. Not saying there shouldn't be cosmetics that are rewarded and themed around whatever activities they are tied to.
