Account Transfer
Hello,
I know this is an unconventional request, but I wanted to ask if there is any possibility of transferring Destiny 2 from one steam account to another.
I’ve been a Destiny player since day one of the D1 alpha, and Destiny 2 is currently tied to an alt steam account. That account has nothing else on it. No friends, no other games, etc. while my main steam account is where all my activity and community are. I own all Destiny 2 DLCs and have 1000+ hrs on that steam account.
I’ve wanted to return to Destiny 2 for a long time, but the MAIN thing holding me back is that it’s not on my main account. If it were, I genuinely believe I could bring 30+ friends back into the game as well, since that’s where my social circle is active.
I understand that account transfers are generally not supported, and I completely respect that. Still, I wanted to ask in case there is any exception or solution available. As a long-time player, I would really appreciate any consideration or guidance you can provide.

Edited by BNGHelp9: 1/5/2026 1:38:58 PMHey there, your data is tied to PSN not Steam (PSN is your primary Cross-save account, each time you played on Steam, you were accessing and making progress on the PSN characters) so it's not a 'transfer' you really want, you want to unlink the current Steam account from Cross-save and link another. That at least changes the ask from something Bungie has never allowed, to something that used to be possible. Unfortunately due to a policy change in March 2025, it is no longer possible to unlink platform accounts from cross-save, so that old Steam account is permanently linked. Bungie have not made any exceptions to this and will not unlink accounts on their end or change cross-save settings.

They don't give exceptions for that because, firstly they don't offer the service, and secondly once they give it to one person - others will expect the same exception to be made for them. That policy follows through other things like account unlinking and cross-save where there are also no exceptions being made. The expectation is on the player that they are using the accounts that they want the progress to be on rather than using alternatives.
