Bungie please change the normal sword hit sound on lightsabers how did you guys end up going with that and saying it was good? This needs to be changed to lightsaber sounds.
The lightsaber sounds are literally in the game with the emotes already. -blam!- even quickfang with no ammo sounds like a lightsaber.
Update - Paul Tassie said it has all lightsaber sound effects when he played at Bungie. So idk why it sounded like that in the reveal stream maybe early footage.
Here’s a clip we good

6 RepliesIf I had a dollar for everytime this community started crying because they thought “in development” gameplay was the final version, I’d probably be able to buy a 20 piece wingstop meal. Do you all have short term memory or something?

Lol, I’d thought Bungie cheaped out on just getting the visual effect but no audio. But seems it’s just them half-baking something else.

Probably a technical issue. Do the current swords have individual sounds? Then again, not all guns sound the same.

Edited by PsychedelicHobbit: 11/26/2025 1:46:55 PMI came to comb through the forums for this exact topic lmao. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the metal sword sounds on a light saber lol.

1 ReplyThey probably didn’t get permission to use the sound. Disney would want Sony to pay bank for it I bet. Bungies not independent to get a deal. Lucas films is owned by Disney so the fact they even let them use Star Wars must’ve cost an arm n a leg. Have you seen how much it cost to go to Disney? So imagine how much this collaboration cost Sony already!!!

They did have this same thing with glaives using the shotgun noise when they revealed Witch Queen. Its most likely just placeholder. They would be absolutely stupid not to have lightsaber sounds in their Star Wars expansion.
