Once again, 2 steps forward, 3 steps back. It's so frustrating
So, Bungie seems to have listened to player community and positively modified the power grind. I actually made 550,, and even more amazingly, I didn't have to repeat the whole grind on my alt characters. The battle pass seems to have been designed to set gear level based on account power not character level, so I could actually have all 3 set to 550 and start working towards getting tier 5 gear that I wanted regardless of character. YAY for Bungie on that. Credit is due for that decision.
But, then of course they can't actually keep making good decisions.
Call to Arms is clearly designed to be exclusionary. In order to get, for example, the admittedly very cool looking helmet ornament, you have to be in the top 1% of score. Think about that. I mean, at least they're being honest in their decision. They DON'T WANT normal player base to succeed. The event is designed for the people that you can name, Esoterixx, LLama, MActics, Fallout, Cool guy, and a handful of others that they know as their primary content creators to get this ornament. Everyone else? Not so much. So, that will drive even more people away because people aren't stupid, it's pretty easy to tell that this is not intended for normal people to enjoy, and certainly not for people who aren't 550, or need matchmade fireteams to participate, So why bother playing an event designed to keep you from winning anything excellent?
And related to this, why does the "bonus engrams" that drop from missions always drop 10 levels below? Those aren't bonus engrams, they're just a waste of time?
And final frustration, what's the point of the "attunement" selection in your ghost? Increase the chance of getting type of gear you want in legendary from 1 - 2 % and has no effect on Exotic at all? Why do you put this out and then it's just a false thing?
