Broken loot, blocked progression, failed matchmaking, PvP cheaters: new player completely stuck since the Portal update Message: Hello Bungie, I’m a new player (NightWoles). I purchased all DLCs, invested real money into the game, and I expected to play Destiny 2 normally — to progress, enjoy the story, play activities, PvP, and explore the worlds. But since the introduction of the Portal system, my entire progression is completely blocked. These are the problems I’m facing: 🔻 1. Loot is stuck at Power level 200 everywhere My actual Power is 358, but the game gives me ONLY Power 200 items, no matter what activity I do. On every planet: ZME, Cosmodrome, Moon, Nessus, Dreaming City, Eternity, Throne World, Europa, Neptune, Pale Heart. → Public Events → Power 200 → Patrols → Power 200 → Story missions → Power 200 → Even paid DLC campaigns → Power 200 Nothing scales to my real Power unless it comes from the Portal. 🔻 2. Core activities no longer give proper rewards Vanguard / Strikes → 200 Nightfalls → 200 Eternity → 200 Some activities → no reward at all Gambit → sometimes no reward at the end Progression is impossible. 🔻 3. Story missions and quests are also broken Even campaign missions designed for new players reward only Power 200 items. A new player is stuck right from the beginning. 🔻 4. Matchmaking is broken: I cannot join any fireteam Even though I’m 358 Power, the game shows me as Power 200 when I send a join request. So: All join requests are refused Other players see me as under-leveled Matchmaking filters me out No group accepts my request I literally cannot play with anyone. 🔻 5. Hosting a fireteam doesn’t work either When I try to host: Nobody joins The activity appears as “Power 200” Even low-level players ignore the lobby The social system is unusable in this state. 🔻 6. The Portal has become mandatory and breaks progression I thought I could level up naturally by playing: Public events Open world PvP Campaign missions Standard activities But no — the game forces new players to use the Portal. Without it, the loot system stays stuck at Power 200. Even worse: Many Portal activities (Master / Legend / Prestige) have NO matchmaking Impossible to complete them solo Impossible to join a team Impossible to reach higher Power levels To reach Power 500, the game basically forces new players into difficult solo-only content. This makes no sense in an MMO. 🔻 7. PvP is full of cheaters In the Crucible, I frequently encounter: Aimbots Impossible movement Instant kills Strange damage values Semi-invincible opponents It makes me wonder if any real anti-cheat system is active. For a new player, PvP is unplayable in the current state. 🔥 Conclusion I spent money on all the Destiny 2 DLCs expecting to enjoy the game. But with: broken loot blocked Power progression matchmaking failures forced Portal usage missing matchmaking in high-level activities PvP filled with cheaters …a new player simply cannot progress, cannot play with others, and cannot enjoy the content they paid for. Please take this problem seriously. Destiny 2 is a great game, but right now, the entire new-player experience is completely broken for me. – NightWoles
