So...don't get me wrong, I like the idea of Holofoils being this super rare skin for a gun, and often look really nice. But my problem is, and I've been saying this since Into the Light, if Bungie cares about optimizing our use of vault space more than just increasing how much we can actually hold, then the glaring issue here is when Holofoils drop and are trash rolls you wouldn't use...normally you'd scrap it but wait! You may not get the holofoil to drop again because rare RNG. So now you're conflicted with keeping a trash gun as a trophy since you may not get it ever again. This is made more annoying with this season, with guns that have multiple holofoils...and requiring a copy for each if you want them all.
Bungie, you taught players to want to keep stuff like this because they tend to be a one time thing, you should know better by now on how to make life easier on everyone. Holofoils need to be a permanent unlock once you get them. That way, we only need the god roll we want, and can toggle the holofoils we have. Very simple solution that would help with vault space usage. People can argue it doesn't matter, get over it, delete it, whatever. The point I'm making is, this is a quality of life improvement so we can actually enjoy the holofoils, there isn't a downside to it, doesn't diminish the value of getting it in the first place, and I can't fathom why anyone would be against this idea. I rest my case

9 RepliesI've said before during the ROTN that we should be allowed to "upgrade" our weapons to the shiny versions. It's not like they offer an advantage, and if we really will be able to upgrade our gear tiers in Renegades like I've seen a few people on here and reddit mention, then would we not also be doing that very thing technically? The closest to an argument anyone gave against it back then, and it was downvoted into oblivion, was that shiny weapons came with extra perks, but now that T3 and T5 all get extra perks, the very justification not to is null. Bungie can just turn it into a Memento that adds an ornament rather than a shader or something.
