If the shooting range is in the tower...
Why do i have to return to orbit before being able to select one of the LZ's?

I mean, the tower has a hangar that we can’t land our ships in, so I think logic is out the window at this point. In a technical level - it is to provide an instance that isn’t public. No idea why they can’t handle it like a lost sector.

3 RepliesIt's to do with 'instances' and that the tower is a public space but the range isnt... it is fireteam specific. You can't have randoms just wandering into the range while your testing your guns. Apparently.

I just miss when Arms Day was about primary weapon fights.

I assume they coded the Shooting Range like an activity space that's fireteam locked, like a Strike or Dungeon. That means you can't launch other "activities" while in it until you go back to Orbit. I just want them to add Guardian targets to it.

Why? My guess is it was the easist and cheapest thing to do. You don't have to create a loading screen to transition from one area to the next when you can fall back on the go to orbit routine. In game, it seems out of place as a destination located in the tower map. If Bungie is so focused on having people visit the Portal, they should have put it in the Portal.

4 RepliesMy guess is with the tower being a social space & the range being a free roam space, they're naturally incapable of using each other's LZs. Made that up just now.

Open the Director and select the Shooting range and go there. Can do the same thing with LZ too... So I perso don't understand what the problem is here. Same goes for me having boots on the ground at the Shoiting range and going direclty to an anctivity or LZ! Where you alone or playing with someone at that moment this occur cuz since Edge of Fate launched. There's a big toll on the launch button. Like everyone in the fireteam needs to be in sync for the launch to work. And of course you wont be able to go anywhere if the Fireteam Leader was'nt you of course.
