Let's see all the things Halo 4 and 5 did that caused these games to fail at the long run:
1. Halo 4 and 5 were notorious for their overhauling of gameplay/UI mechanincs, plus the loss of many gamemodes, some of them classical to Halo and beloved by the fans, which deviated too much from the feel of previous games and left fans wondering if it was even Halo anymore.
Edge of Fate did exacly that
2. Halo 4 and 5 had messy, mostly nonsensical storylines, which deviated too much from the games original lore and nearly ruined it forever
Edge of Fate did exacly that
3. Halo 4 and 5 also overhauled their grinding/reward system. Instead of investing in ''earnability'' and allowing players to get different cosmetics by just playing, they filled the game with microtransactions and a crap ton of half-assed cosmetics just to suck as much money as they could (which was also an issue in Infinite)
Edge of Fate (and to some extent before) did exacly that
4. Halo 4 and 5 completely screwed the games balancing. They replaced the classical weapon-drops and mid-combat looting with pre-made loadouts with some very problematic weapons that dominated the meta and ruined the classic gameplay cycle. For the PVE, they filled the game with ridiculously difficult enemies with all kinds of bullshit, get-outta-jail-free-card mechanics.
Modern Crucible, and post Lightfall PVE have become exacly this
5. Halo 4 and 5 also overhauled their graphics engine. The previous games had a very distinct art style, models, colors and shading, which just weren't present in 4 and 5. These new graphics had a weird feel to them, some models felt too different and contributed to the confusing lore, the colors and shading made every spartan look like a plastic toy, and a lot of props to feel cheap, and it didn't help how some maps were made with completely recycled props and positioning from one another
Edge of Fate did exacly that
So the former studio responsible for Halo has made the same mistakes that caused modern Halo's downfall with their new IP. Talk about some irony

Bro, you went on this whole rant with valid points, i might add as far as comparison is concerned. But you know…Halo Reach was the last title in the franchise developed by Bungie. 4 & 5 were developed by Microsoft Studios.😅🤣

the system changes to destiny are WAY worse than anything that ever happened to halo destiny 2 has increased all grinds in a LOOTER SHOOTER by 40x or more, with no extra content or rewards - in fact most of it is recycled or getting our same stuff back again halo's pve experience was largely unchanged except for removing local coop in one game and they added that garbage slot machine card system to multiplayer - halo infinite is honestly the worst changes thus far with a bad season pass grind for largely crappy cosmetics in destiny you can't even get a fair fight anymore without a hundred plus hours of grinding incredibly tedious and monotonous activities that consistently make you feel weaker as you level up halo is still halo, destiny is no longer remotely the same game

Gotta disagree with the story point. I thought EoF was the best story for a long while

Halo 4 Cortana had good thighs 👀

Bungie isn't hiring anyone who specifically hates Destiny yet(that we know of) -
Not saying there aren’t similarities, but if classic Halo experience = grind, loot drop and meta for you then you haven’t had the Halo experience. Halo was great because the content was fun to play and rewarding on its own. I beat the legendary campaign a hundred times in co-op… with my dad. An ex military turned carpenter who had never played and never been interested in playing a video games in his life, he would ask to play Halo. Forget about player retention, classic Halo was even appealing to people who did not care for video games, that’s why it’s a legend. And D2 fail because it lost the fun and the magic, much like the subsequent Halo did.

Brother, I don't think you played H4. Sure, to most the points for H5. But, 1. H4 had the classic halo gamemodes. Also, every halo had UI changes. 2. H4's campaign was not that bad and improved upon it with Spartan Ops. 3. H4 had probably the most "earnability" when it came to armor in the whole series. You had to complete challenges that ranged from playing a specific way, getting high amounts of assassinations, to even solving puzzles and finding hidden glyphs in MP maps. 4. H4 You made custom loadouts, also halo reach had some pre-set loadouts. Why isn't that game in there. Also, H5 got rid of loadouts in favor of ability and weapon pick-ups like previous halos before reach. 5. Sure. Listen, I understand trying to compare a bunch of dumpster fires and saying they're a dumpster on fire. But don't say falsehoods to make it fit a narrative.

I loved Halo 4, spent a lot of time in PvP mainly BTB and have a lot of good memories

When we talk about Destiny at its peak, we may say foresaken, final shape, or taken king, but nobody recalls the numbers they chased. We Remember the battles we faced!!!! Sadly all things eventually must come to an end......great memories were had. Thank you to all the past devs at Bungie who brought those great times......

Kind of…. But not in the way you described. It is just that the creative leads left, the vision went with them. Now you have companies trying the hardest to keep them going. We get a round table of ideas on how to keep money coming in. Some ideas are great, some ideas are missing the mark… Takes time to create, takes as much time to correct. Just like this community, no one will see eye to eye with ideas that will right the ship. If someone does have a great vision, it will take years to develop. This stage of destiny is just to keep the merry-go-round running while a vision is agreed upon with the franchise.
