People are deleting their gear to have fun?!
The higher power (level) you get, the harder and more unfun everything becomes all of the time. So people are deleting their high power gear in order to have fun with lower activities again.
Making every single activity the top level difficulty is beyond bad. It is the most inept game creation decision I have ever heard of. Even dark souls games get easier as you gain levels.
What exactly is wrong with you. Why exactly do you hate your game and player base so much?
Seriously, having to go balls to the wall in everything one does to get any meaningful loot is indescribably bad.

1 ReplySO a few years ago on a planet far far away, Neptune, Bungie said they were going to make the game harder, more build dependent. Dev s laughed that they hoped player would cry over how hard the game was being made. That same year sales and profits fell so much in the third quarter they laid off 100 devs, delayed release of the next expansion. Which was harder yet, with more devs being reassigned in Sony with fewer devs to design and implement the next expansion, EOF. Now the hardest yet to be released sees even fewer players and sales of the expansion. I would imagine fewer profits with player numbers down that has to be less spending. Bungie wants the game designed to be harder, because a few years ago they caved to the streamers and hardcore elite players who said quite frequently that the game was TOO EASY. Now even they are reaping a reward for stupidity of not recognizing that easy for you is hard for someone else and impossible for others. It takes all skill levels to make a game like this truly successful Bungie lost sight of this for whatever reason. The game need players like me to, average to purchase expansion and periodically make purchases in the store. Without us the "expected revenue", profit, is not where stock holders want, expect, even demand them. TLDR: To hard for average players and many of us bailed!

4 RepliesWithout trying to sound like a -blam!-, it's really not that hard bud, boring and mind numbingly repetitive, yes, but hard, not really. I'm in a clan of over 50s, and virtually everyone is running grandmaster or ultimate solo ops and fireteam ops. Just figure out what mods you prefer. I'm running stuff at -10 delta with the correct player stake mods on and getting + drops. This system is shite and gatekeeps a lot of weapons, yes, but not really hard to the extent you have to delete gear to have fun. Playerstake mods are the key.

13 RepliesIt dawned on me a week into EOF that power means nothing ! So I stopped …it’s funny cause even now when I see higher power I get a kick then realise it’s all rubbish . Destiny turned into a grind power game only . Bungie are long gone and EaoF was the new offing so yeah it’s down . Even with the road map …how much of it do we believe . Just more crap layer onto more crap with all the bugs and problems . On e big crap cake of a game now .

This old tortoise has crossed the 450 barrier…not chasing any LLs at all, just playing events, portaloo missions - only up until it auto-switched to GM levels, then I stopped right there…and switched over to IB / Trials / Comp - mostly to chase my latest ‘white whale’ until it got stupid, ie, not dropping anything or just useless rubbish; thence over to normal Crucible, whichever mode gave the most loot. 🤔 My vault is full of 10s…now, I’m burning tier 5 stuff to get enough of that necessary currency to upgrade some old favourites! Not fun. Ridiculous costs. Stupidity upon stupid by BHQ—it simply pi$$es nearly everyone off, big time—so, it’s deliberate! 🤡🤥🤡 SMH 🙄 I’m clearing out the flood of weapon sets that are clogging up my vault…focus on one set…sift / sort…take the few for a spin on patrol…burn the rest. Rinse and repeat. That’s what I’m mostly doing now. Portaloo stuff has zero interest…nada…none! 😤 ‘Tis but a few strands that bind me now…as much as I’d rather Destiny survive and thrive … unless there’s a major course correction - this current ‘clown car’ and the 🤡🤥🤡 running it into the ground, will simply conk out! That is all. Ease Slings! 🤧

If someone’s purposely keeping their level lower cause they think it gets harder, they’re… Should choose worse carefully to not get in trouble.

Even with locked delta's coming you will be able to select lower difficulties. If it's fun a player is looking for and being able to blast through enemies is what they want then there's no need to delete any gear.

Reasons to hate this player base have been plastered all over this board for a decade. Besides, Bungie has done plenty over the years to prop up its more challenged beneficiary part of the player spectrum. Look no further than ruining Comp and Trials, and countless shadow mechanics to boost them in Quickplay (e.g. damage referee, comeback, ghost bullets, protective mm, rng shot patterns, efc.). All in the name of "inclusion". The base has also been catered to with plenty of QOL requests honored. When it comes to pve difficulty level, Bungie is on the right track making it customizable. Something too tough?.....sray out. ... I have zero issue with the structure. Tougher content for those thst need / want the challenge should be there. And no. I'm not a part of that crowd for the most part these days, mostly because there's no pve endgame difference makers to farm for pvp use. Yes, I gutted out Nechrochasm and catalyst.

I've been deleting my gear since about level 200 to ramp my other gear up. LoL I laugh in a crazy way when I dismantle stuff now! 🤣

Imho. BS Not OPs post if true but deleting gear??? Imho BS. I can adjust difficulty to any level, of course I won't get tier 5s at expert level nor PL upgrades. I am at 460ish now and 5s are dropping left and right. Weapons I don't "need" cause I still use my old god rolls and exotics, yes, I am old and stubborn. But armour is the best I ever got and no way I would have acquired artifice and adepts in the old system. Aztecross commenting on a Esoterickk video wishing back the "good old times" where best gear was tied to RNG and skill reserving it for the 1% player base who can do it. Best loot was "socialized", no advantage anymore for screamers, I beg your pardon, streamers. Yet, PL resets must go and more content was good but it must have been obvious to anybody that after these layoffs less could be created. The last one is turning off the lights. Don't make a drama out of it. We are not yet there. Take care.
