Destiny 1 content droughts between DLC’s
Here is why………
You had a new game. You leveled all that you could for the week on reset Tuesday. You had the raid. Most people searching for that one last armor drop… forever 29!
Then after that was just helping others complete their chase.
You literally had nothing else account wise to do. Yes chase exotics, but guess what they mostly came from “exotic” chest in raid. So it benefited you to “carry” people through raids.
Tell me this was not the best community times!!!! Just playing game with friends or randoms didn’t matter.
Did not vibe with the randoms you just met, don’t friend them but most people stayed until task was done!

Gaming communities in general were at their best when they were comprised of actual gamers, not wannabe game developers running their digital mouths on internet forums.

It amazes me how many of you can remember Destiny 1.

I loved the D1 content droughts so much. I actually prefer them to current destiny. The only people playing during them were those that needed to catch up and those that truly loved the game. It made for an amazing community. Additionally, the content droughts let you play other games and you didn't feel punished. The week to week story missions just weren't fun and were such a drag.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 10/4/2025 8:34:25 PMI don't know if satire was your motivation, but you're speaking some truth. We've been in this spot before. For a year... twice before. Vanilla D1... tDB was weak... the raid at launch was broken, then they announced no raid in HoWs. A bunch of sunset gear... a bunch of exotics that lasted 2-3 weeks before they got chopped. Very limited content... It was leveling WITH RNG ENGRAMS 😋... and refining stat splits that had very little impact. That was Vanilla D1. Then Vanilla D2... the game almost died, low numbers and sales after the initial release... went from Full Raids to Raid Lairs... I don't even remember the Warmind campaign other than the ending and the horrific grind... the warmind nodes, timegated exotic quests... Escalation Protocol. The mode was fun, the rng wasn't. And we got through it. In fact, AFTER... In D1, the Taken King. In D2, Forsaken. We still might have to endure till the end of the year. I'm excited for Renegades, but I think it might take the year. 😇👍💠
