Apparently this is a "known" issue, but as a returning player from Launch through Forsaken, it was not known to me. On non-redbar weapons with the tooltip "Deepsight Activation is available for this weapon.", when you go to the Deepsight Socket, then Deepsight Resonance, it says "This weapon possesses a resonance detectable by your Deepsight ability. ○ Acquire weapon Pattern progress by either extracting the Pattern mod and retaining the weapon, or dismantling the weapon." But after dismantling atleast 15+ deepsight weapons that I can remember in the last month of doing all of the campaigns from Shadow Keep to The Edge of fate, and finally finding the progress bar now that ive caught up to the current content and have been trying to collect more patterns to Shape, ive realized that none, not a single one that ive dismantled has progressed any of the patterns. Only the ones that I used a Deepsight Harmonizer on, and the red bar weapons with the free pattern extraction are counting towards getting the patterns, and I haven't been tracking to even make sure that both of those are working but I do have some pattern progress on several weapons so I would assume that they are. Thats literally atleast 60% progress for 5 weapons that ive thrown away BECAUSE the in-game TOOL-TIP told me that I can do so to get pattern progress. I wouldve literally just left them in my vault until I got my next harmonizer if I had known. Now this isnt a game crippling issue or making me walk away or any of that exaggerated non-sense, but it is a bit frustrating to know ive crippled my own progress by following the games tooltip. So if dismantling them isnt supposed to progress the pattern unlock, then please fix the tooltip. Or if it is supposed to, then fix the pattern progress for dismantling. As a returning player i foundthis new Shaping system to be really cool and a great addition to the game, but come on, can we not spare 2 people to sort out the issue sometime relatively soon? Ive seen tons of new players as i was completing the expansions and theyll definitely be just as frustrated once they reach this point and find this issue in the same way that I did.
