Most of the haters, content-creator quitters and cheaters have one thing in common. They all think of Destiny as a means to an end that will help THEM achieve their goals. Don't listen to them or try to dissuade them. Your best bet is to ignore them.
There is nothing that can be done that you aren't doing to make this a great hobby game. You are banning the cheaters and doing your best to stop them. You are trying to appease the haters by making changes and buffing/nerfing troublesome gear. And lastly, you are giving content creators a plethora of secrets and lore to discover and share with their audience. You need not do any more!
The portal is perfect as is. The only thing it needs is MORE ways to do things, and MORE frequent rotations of matchmaking ops. The gear and power grind has felt perfect. I play around 6-7 hours a week, and play a little of everything (but mostly PvP)...and I'm about to be 450 light and a rank 9 guardian.
My drops are plentiful, and I get excited for loot to drop because you NEVER know when you will get a tier higher (for me, a 5)...and that is always exciting. It's also fun to try and use what I've earned to make new builds...which is the true end game. That, and Dresstiny. 😊
Don't change anything....just add more of the old and sprinkle in some new, and you have a great game that many people still enjoy.
There will always be detractors, and you are competing against a lot of different games coming out, but believe me when I say, they will always come back, because NOTHING feels like Destiny.
