A guide to complete pantheon

Hello everyone, I’ve seen a lot of people on the forums mentioning they’re struggling completing pantheon, so I thought I’d throw my own 2 cents into the mix of how to make a completion easier. The sections will be put into different spoilers below to stop the post from being too wall of text like. Weapons: Best weapons to use on bosses
in my eyes there’s only 3 weapons you really need and they are all easily obtainable. 1. Edge transit (or any other equivalent grenade launcher) with decent perks. Doesn’t have to be a god roll by any means. Good DPS for caretaker, and planets. 2. Whisper of the worm Good for golgoroth and oryx 3. Parasite/fallen guillotine from onslaught Good for Atraks These all excel in each of the bosses as Edge transit is great for burst DPS, whisper is great for long damage phases, and parasite/sword is good for ‘nuking’ As for ad clearing, just slap on whatever you know works well.
Supers: ideal supers to use on each encounter
this is focused around either team utility or damage to bosses Golgoroth: Titan: Big hammer with pyro gauntlets, if you don’t have that, T-crash/Strand super should suffice. Warlock Well surprise surprise Hunter Golden gun with celestial or tether. Caretaker: Titan same as Golgoroth Warlock well, or my personal fav dawnblade with dawn chorus hunter same as Golgoroth Planets: same as before for all classes Atraks: slap on burst supers titans thunder crash hunters Blade Barrage/celestial goldy Warlocks Nova Bomb/Needlestorm Oryx: anything really…
Mechanics and my advice
if you’re not confident with certain mechanics then here is my advice: Golgoroth: just simply say you’d prefer to do damage. If you get booted then just find another team. However if you’re doing damage, make sure you pay attention to the pools of light above you and shoot down the next one when appropriate. Caretaker: just do add clear or stun. You stun the boss by having 2 people on each side of the caretaker. One gets close to the boss so he slams, then shoots his face, while the person behind him shoots his back that opens up. Rinse and repeat till damage. Planets: try to be ad clear. If not quickly look up a guide lol. Atraks: mention you’re not comfortable being operator or scanner, try and stick with the team, stay downstairs with 2 other people and go up when they go up. Oryx: try and be a ‘floater’ but at least have a basic idea of what’s happening.
LFG and what to look for in teammates
plain and simple just look at someone’s loadouts, how they speak to others, and just float around till you find a chill group that knows what they are doing. My first pantheon at -5 took me 3 hours, my 4th pantheon completion overall, while at -10 took 75 minutes. Difference? The teammates I had. So if you’re not feeling a certain team that’s ok. Some teams are better than others, and after some time looking you’ll find one that works well together.
REMEMBER FOR DAMAGE always activate the buff beforehand. In -5 pantheon (the one labeled Atraks when you’re selecting which one you want to do) use your class ability before you damage the boss for a 20% bonus to your DPS In -10 pantheon (one labeled Oryx when you’re selecting which one you want to do) shoot the boss 3 times in its crit spot with a primary weapon to activate a free 20% damage bonus for 15 seconds. Hope all this helps and removes some of the difficulty people are having with this challenge. • I will add to this. Use what is Known to work. Stop trying to get random things to work with an LFG group

Very important for people to match their weapons (and subclasses, when possible) with the Surges. Especially as the power deficit goes up with each week, that extra 25% damage is invaluable - also worth noting that Overcharges aren't active, so weapons with Champion mods don't automatically get the boost. Expecting Arc Surge to be active next week, so plan accordingly - for example, a well-rolled Hothead could outperform Apex Predator because of that extra damage. Maybe expect to see things like Thunderlord and Grand Overture actually be worth using. For a Platinum score, you effectively have to 2-phase-or-better every boss. Atraks is easy, Riven will also be easy if the cheese is still doable, but doing that at -20 even with the modifiers will be no small undertaking. Caretaker is likely to cause the most trouble, it's possible to get Platinum in the traditional 3 floors but you have to be very fast.

  • Do not suggest nova bomb for atracks. People will use cataclysm and block others damage needlestorm is superior in every way. Its also solar week so blade barrage should be used gg is not good for atracks.

      • In bosses like caretaker or something, what does the yellow bar mean in damage phases

        • Stunning Caretaker: one player enrages Caretaker by getting in close and shooting him in the face. This player can steer Caretaker so his back is facing the platform by shooting him in the face while moving. This does not always work. Sometimes he will just turn completely around. This means the back stunner must move forward and enrage him. Generally you want to get as close as possible so you will be firing straight up in the air. Titans will want to melee so your not slammed off the platform. The player in the back position is responsible for shooting the bees that come out of his head. These bees will target the person enraging him and shooting his face. This is done by walking gunfire up his back and over his head. Once he is stunned simply continue firing over his head. The easiest method of bee removal is to shoot them all as they spawn out of his head. If they are flying in the center of the arena simply shoot one and continue to fire in that one spot and they will generally all eventually fly there. It is possible to keep him on the platform for the entire time the runners are inputting symbols.

            • It’s the mental fortitude of sticking it out to find THE team. Was a raider but the bad experiences (not the encounter, the people) built up. Came back for WQ and didn’t really raid often till season of the deep. Back at it since. Pantheon is looking to be the challenge already. Got the gear and knowledge, just need to execute. Take all the tips you can get

            • What most people don't realize is that on bosses with the blinking white health threshold like caretaker or planets, you can pop your super at the end of the white bar and overdamage the threshold. Most people tend to start of with the burst super but try to pop it as close to the end of the bar as possible.

              • Also, pay attention to the surges and adjust your load out accordingly. Oryx had Solar Surge so we used Apex for Caretaker and Planets.

              • Good guide. I think for the most part: Be straight about what you can and cannot do. Be nice. Explain things. You’re not teaching an entire raid. You’re just giving people some pointers for one encounter.
