Am i missing anything if i start fresh?

Haven't played destiny since year 2, i started playing again with a new account. I kind of feel like all the hours i put into destiny 1 and early destiny 2 are down the drain having started with a new account/character. It also feels like my character is a newcomer instead of someone who put in hundreds of hours. I understand much old content is removed and you start at a high power level. Am i really losing anything by starting with a new account? (i had some decent gear but not a crazy collection or anything)

  • The only thing you will lose is your time, don't play this dog game, Bungie will remove the current content when LF launches.

    • Not really anything important. I think they took away the ability to transfer your D1 character (not weapons or gear, just its history) a while ago. But other than that, not really.

      • Yes you lose your veteran status and rewards as well as your character legacy. Things like a certain shader and emblems that showed you played D1 would no longer be available. Also your legacy tab under character selection would not be available it's like a story of your endeavors you completed throughout your time playing D1 purely nostalgic though. So you technically do lose something but nothing game changing.

        • You are not losing anything chief. Nothing from d1 moved to d2 when the game started, only what bungie has been slowly bringing. Everything campaign wise prior to shadowkeep was removed and currently cannot be accessed.

          • I started a new account when I switched from PlayStation to Xbox. I had been on a little break from Destiny and was excited to start over from scratch. Didn’t plan to, but ended up doing the same with D1. Don’t regret it at all. Play what you enjoy in a way that suits you. 👍

            • Not really. I just did the same and was able to get all but 2 exotics from lost sectors, all armor and level up to light in 2 days. Worst part is having to replay the same crusty things you already did again.
