It’s cool you’re finally retiring sunsetting, as I’ve for years criticized this as the dumbest system yet in a game between vaulting content and vaulting guns. Now after years of egging us into clearing out our vaults of these guns that will “never be at light cap again” are now useful again and you claim there’s no way to bring these guns back into the game.
So what you’re saying is, the tinfoil hat wearing gamers -blam!- to clear their vaults are being rewarded while everyone else is stuck being only able to use the very select few weapons you can retrieve from collections that didn’t have random rolls.
Cool idea bungie but it came a little too late. My only hope is this is the end of FOMO content drops or I promise you there’s no chance I’m playing a destiny 3. I’ll finish out Destiny 2 but I’m done with the hamster wheel of “you just had to be there” mentality. There’s a reason people are replaying fallout new Vegas, fallout 4, hell even Skyrim so much because you can always go back and enjoy it and not miss out on anything that was removed from the game bc “you weren’t there”

Edited by CrimzonReaper: 4/27/2024 2:06:00 PMThe amount of ppl that completely missed the reason we’re being able to use our old gear again is staggering. Fireteam power makes sunsetting irrelevant, so they’d just have a bunch of ppl that play solo complaining they can’t use legacy gear but ppl in fireteams can. Also all sunset gear would be able to be used in endgame activities anyway. Their only other option was to delete sunset stuff out of our vaults. How well do you think that would have went over ? I get it, it’s frustrating, I just cleaned my vault out last month and only saved weapons that had sentimental value to me. I think you’re gonna find most ppl will try their old weapons and realize we have better ones now, with a few exceptions.
Now after years of egging us into clearing out our vaults of these guns that will “never be at light cap again”
Question- can you provide any evidence of Bungie saying this? Not forum posts. Not streamers. But bungie. Cause they never said just delete everything old.

Then quit, uninstall the game, and find a different one.

I wouldn't call hoarding for four years to use obsolete weapons again "rewarding," but go off.

Not for OP, but for the "ThE wEaPoNs ArEnT gOoD aNyMoRe" crowd, you're entirely missing the point and either being purposefully obtuse or garden variety stupid.

“We understand that many old Power limited items have been dismantled by this point, and we regret that we have no recovery mechanism for these. Going forward, we intend to reintroduce sources for most or all of these, updated to modern Destiny sandbox standards with added properties such as Origin Traits and buildcrafting perks (as we have started to do with the BRAVE arsenal in Destiny 2: Into the Light)” - Bungie

Lol reading these posts are just hilarious! The whining is unreal about the unsettling of weapons ! Keep it coming d2 community 😂

Edited by KalelKryptonian: 4/27/2024 8:55:49 PMYeah they tell are old weapons are no good then remove sunsetting it's like some cruel prank. Removing sunsetting now is like shutting the barn door after the bull got out

A) All sunset weapons are pretty much useless compared to current weapons. Admit it. B) This was done in order to encourage older players to return to the game and not have to worry about the grind, as with the other power changes. C) The only reason many kept sunset weapons is for sentimental reasons. If you deleted weapons because of lack of space or encouragement to use them, that’s because you knew deep down that the weapon wasn’t important enough to you to be relevant.

Bungie could fix everything by allowing players to craft the sunset versions of weapons. Bungie doesn't know what I deleted, but I sure do! Seriously, why hasn't Bungie considered this as an option? It seems obvious
