It’s always kind of funny when I’m playing Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, and some yahoo shows up in the lobby and starts throwing around Meteor spells. See, Meteor isn’t a spell that’s castable under normal means; the only way to cast it is to get a Meteor Ring from Rainy Ruins—the hardest dungeon in the game. What’s funny is that Meteor kinda, y’know, totally sucks. It has a few niche uses, but 90% of the time, there’s no reason to cast Meteor over Holy. So, you get these people running around casting Meteor, wearing it as some sort of badge like “Look how good I am at this game!“ while proceeding to be basically worthless to the team. And like, they also always seem to be genuinely awful at the game, too, for some reason. It’s also always funny because, like, I have 6. I’ve gotten it on 6 of my characters, so it’s like they hop in trying to show off, but seeing a Meteor Ring means almost nothing to me. I carry people through Rainy Ruins for funsies, and have literally taken a whole group of 4 through the dungeon, when none of them but me could actually do anything. One time, I carried a guy through Rain Ruins, and he was just awful. The worst guy on the team, but he got the Meteor Ring. I didn’t need it, so I wasn’t bummed for my sake, but I was kinda like “Aw man, this other guy deserved it way more.”. Afterwards, I swap characters, and go play some random dungeons, and who should show up but the guy who just got the Meteor Ring. And lo & behold, he’s casting it on everything, doing even less for the team than he did on Rainy Ruins. And he probably thinks everyone thinks he’s super cool & awesome, with absolutely no clue that the one who just carried him on her* back is standing two feet away, pinching the bridge of her* nose like “Uggggh, this guy..” [spoiler]I say her because my character was a girl. I am not. Funnily enough, I was dressed up as Princess Fiona (no not that one) during Rainy Ruins, and swapped to my Selkie, who’s dressed up as an undercover in-disguise Fiona, so it really was like I went undercover and this guy was totally oblivious.[/spoiler] This rant was made to commemorate my 6th Meteor Ring. Everyone congratulate my male Selkie, Ben, for getting it. He is now wrapping up his last few artifacts, and will be my 6th character to be maxed out, and then I’ll move on to my female Lilty, Lillie. . . . I hate playing as Lilties. :)
