I really don't mind Disjunction and don't understand the hate

Right, so hear me out. Disjunction is a VERY large map. But it has a good mix of close range, long range, and verticality. It has sniper lanes, but plenty of ways to break line of sight. Players seem to laser-focus on the upper-middle lane or the swamp. Somehow, so many people don't use the lower tunnels or the cliff-side paths where the map is much less open, along B flag. There's rooms and choke points and alternate routes to snake around the long-range lanes. It's to the point that my main running path is to start at A/C cap, and then run to the lower tunnels because nobody else is at B by then since they like to hold on the upper-middle sniper lane. It's a VERY rare encounter for me to find someone else using the opposing side's tunnels which also means I could just bypass B and come up behind them. While everyone else is scoping down the swamp and middle lane, I could already be at the opposite A/C flag while skipping those open lanes entirely. My only complaint is the giant spawn box on either side making the walk of shame a pain in the tush. But then again, so does Convergence's spawn.

  • I love it. Probably for all the reasons that good players hate it. It's huge, it's a maze, it has a variety of areas, and I like the esthetics of the environment. Yeah, the hike in from spawns is long, but I learned to benefit (most times) from that. My first time through it, I had no idea that map had even been added. (I took a few months off because of work responsibilities). The map loaded, and I was like "what is this........?". Then the madness ensued. New map, and I was totally lost. I was absolutely pummeled from one side of the map to the other. And I was laughing like a fool the entire time. I enjoy playing a brand new map blindly for the first time. And it started coming up in my rotation quite a bit, so I got more exposure to it. I enjoy seeing it come up when matchmaking is done and I'm flying in. Maybe I'm still in my honeymoon phase with it, but I am enjoying playing it. As I stated before, I don't know that I am really a good enough player for a lot of the complaints that other players have with it to really bother me. (But that is the allure. I love a challenge, and I'm not a stellar player, so it is a self scratching itch). The maps that I really do not like are Eternity the ones that are in Eternity's AO/locale. I don't know what it is about that realm, but I really don't like it. I've hated it since it first came out in Trials. Personal preference/quirk. I just don't like that place, and the maps are not as enjoyable for me. But I still play them, and I still have fun. They just suffer by comparison to the other offerings. Caveat: I am not by any means a top tier player. No real ambition to be either. I just enjoy playing (and improving). I used to be a primarily PvE player, especially in D1. At some point in D2, the Crucible bug took hold, and that is my favorite mode now. I mainly haunt the Freelance Survival playlist. The bulk of my playtime is spent there. If Iron Banana is in rotation, I'll play that quite a bit (and this last one that was basically Team Death Match was awesome! That was a fun change of pace for Iron Banana). I might grab a few Control matches to add some variety or if I have a bounty. I will serve as cannon fodder when Trials is active. Rumble, Mayhem, you name it. It's all pretty much fun to me. I just really enjoy PvP. But I still enjoy PvE, so long as there is matchmaking. I play solo quite a bit, so anything with matchmaking is a plus.
