The exotic glaives

I think I may have found the solution to exotic glaives that is balanced and doesn't change much on how they function. So I would like to start this by saying the Exotic glaives are my favorite weapons in the game right now. Specifically the edge of intent of which I have a lot of kills with. Now after playing with these weapons for such a long time I've come to this conclusion. The reason the exotic glaives are underused comes down to the intrinsic traits and the way you charge it's exotic perk. If you read the intrinsic trait it sounds no different from the intrinsic traits to the legendary glaives. The other problem people have with them is using your shield depletes the exotic perk and obviously people don't like that because using the shield is their favorite part. Now personally I don't have a problem with this and I find myself not using the shield very often however I digress. I think a solution would be to include in the intrinsic trait that guarding with the shield adds energy to charge the Is exotic perk. This means people can use the shield and still get the exotic perk without changing too much of the way the weapon functions it can still consume a shot when you use the exotic perk it just changes the way the perk gets charged. After thinking on this I feel this would still make the weapon feel like a glaive and it would make the weapon feel more like an exotic weapon as now they still function like glaives are intended but have added utility which I feel was the original intention of these weapons. I am curious to know your thoughts to anyone who finds themselves reading this and bungie if you read this what do you think?
