A fun pvp idea, sparrow racing.

Edit: I just found this was at one point already a thing.... maybe they should bring it back? Take the idea with the sparrow course from Grasp of Avarice dungeon (racing the fuses), instead of fuses you are racing other players to the finish line. You could have the event run by Amanda Holliday. You could make a few different courses based on each world we visit. Could have special events like pike racing or pike brawls (if you get off you blow up). Could make the rep unlock different shaders and maybe some different sparrows (capping at rank 30, resetting with the season). Nothing that would upset player power, just a fun thing to do for a change of pace in the game. IDK lol It's something different.

  • While I would love to see the SRL (Sparrow Racing League) game mode come back to Destiny 2 in some fashion, I doubt it will ever happen. This may be a "hot take" but I don't think the Destiny community at large wants SRL back. I remember the forums during Destiny 1 being hit with requests that resources being spent on SRL be moved over to help produce more strikes and Crucible updates to help with the dry periods between expansions instead. (Keep in mind there were no seasons in D1 so content between DLCs was minimal outside of Raids, Nightfalls, and a few updates to Prison of Elders.) Not to mention players wanted Bungie to figure out what the hell was going on with Crucible, since at the time the special ammo economy was bust and balancing class abilities and weapons was a major issue. SRL was pretty fun at first but its novelty wore out fast outside of seasonal events. Races themselves weren't all that difficult to complete and the rewards were never as good as what you could get out of Raids and Nightfalls. Not to mention the individual in first place didn't really have to try and win. Maintaining the lead was easy so long as you avoided enemies and knew how to hold down left trigger. SRL interest dropped off quickly after its second debut and since then there hasn't been much demand for the event outside of your occasional forum post that gathers upvotes and comments before disappearing into obscurity again. The demand just isn't high enough to support a proper comeback unfortunately.
