Chaos Ascendant (RP)

”It’s been a while since I’ve been to the ocean. The atmosphere there is rather soothing, for the most part. There can be storms and other annoying types of weather. Weather is rather unpredictable, is it not? The same can be said for other things, like animals. Nature truly is a magnificent thing, some would say that it’s worth studying even.” ~ Ł Norway, July 18th 1359, 11:24 .P.M. “You wan’ to kill the king, is that right?” “Of course it is, why would I be here otherwise?” “You have a point.” Mistress Bethyinine smiled, her pale blue eyes glowing in the moonlight. “What do you have in mind? Poison? Throat-slitting? Or something else?” “Why not both, let the man bleed to death as the poison sets in.” Mistress Bethyinine walked away before the peasant even had a chance to respond. After that ordeal was over, all she had to do was kill the king, not an easy task to accomplish. Though she could probably manage it, with enough preparation. Which is what she decided to do for the next few weeks. August 1st, 1359, Midnight The crow’s lament signaled that midnight was approaching. Now it was time for Mistress Bethyinine to take the old man’s life. Haakon VI of Norway sat in his bedroom, waiting for morning to come. His servants had forgotten to shut the window that night. The wind whistled through the window, carrying with it the cold night air. He sat up in bed for a moment before drifting off to sleep. The castle was relatively quite, not even the guards were patrolling the halls at this time. Sound could travel very quickly without any interference. Despite this inconvenience, Mistress Bethyinine decided to commit to her goal of regicide. First she crawled through the foyer and up the stairs of the castle. Then the murderer made her way to the kings quarters. The magnificent hallways of the castle were lined with old paintings. Some were of the kings family, and others of previous historical events. The tables were lined with gold and the floor covered in red carpet. Candles illuminated the hall, guiding the murderer to her victim. Despite her timing, she still had to be aware of anyone who was potentially still awake at this time. The very presence of any unwanted guests could ruin her mission. Yet still, she presses on towards the kings chamber, waiting for the noise to die down before moving. Haakon, who was still asleep at the time, did not hear his killers footsteps. Only after she opened the door did start to move, jolting up in bed to get a better view of the room. Even as he looked around the room, his killer did not hesitate to make her presence known. Slowly, the king’s mind began to calm him down before putting him back to rest. Then the murderer crept into his chamber, slithered over to his bed, slit his throat, and leapt out the window.
