Account recovery clarification

Hey Bungie, big fan and super stoked for your upcoming releases! I noticed your message about cracking down on account recoveries, paid or no. I personally do not subscribe to anything like that, and think that's a great change to implement, yet find myself in a unique situation. My significant other (long distance, in case that info is relevant) loves Destiny 2 as well, but works full time and finds it hard to keep up with power grinding to be able to do endgame content with our friends. I've been helping supplement this issue by hopping on her account to assist in completing weekly objectives to raise her light level. We both play on Xbox. My question is as follows: does this violate any rules or restrictions or count as an account recovery, and will either of us be banned if I continue to help her keep her light level up?

  • Hi there! Based on your description you would not be banned. Check out the blog post that includes details about the account recovery rules here: https://www.bungie.net/en-us/Explore/Detail/News/50560

    • The problems with account recoveries are those who give out account details to strangers. Every day we see the results.... Accounts banned for cheating. Characters deleted in a sick joke. Accounts stolen. If you willingly give out details then the risk on on the player even if you know that individual. We have seen all of the above with "friends" who play on another's account. You can do recoveries (and game share also requires sharing details) but know the risks and that Bungie will not help when things go wrong.
