What e3 presentation are you anticipating the most?

Personally I'm excited for the Capcom presentation.

Honestly the only thing I’m going in expecting to like is the Bethesda showcase. Because Starfield - from what has been leaked about it at any rate - seems like it could be a ton of fun. And even if it’s only half the game Fallout 4 was, then it’s worth me looking into. As much as I can hate on that game, I still think it was worth the money and worth playing; Bethesda have got their gameplay hook down pretty damn well all things considered. Plus Bethesda are bound to be talking about other things and I’m sure there’ll be a nice surprise in there somewhere, so long as the ‘other things’ aren’t just F76 expansions. I mean they didn’t put a ton of their games on Xbox Games Pass and upgrade a bunch with HDR and FPS boost for nothing right? That’s a point, perhaps there’ll be some nice chunky upgrades to XGP. I try not to go into these things with many specific expectations though because apart from the games we already know are being released, the big surprises are always just meaningless teasers anyway, like that one the other year that just said ES6 ‘is happening’. Like let’s say Valve rear their ageing steamy heads and announce Half-Life 3, or a remastered collection on new consoles. It wouldn’t be out soon, and it probably wouldn’t be worth the ultra, Cyberpunk-esque hype that would surely ensue. So I try to limit myself until I see real tangible gameplay footage. These days I like to watch a review or a few minutes of a let’s play just to get a look at the actual experience, because at the end of the day, that’s what will bore me and make me turn off an hour or two into the game. I started playing that Quantum Break the other week cus it’s on XGP. Gorgeous game, lovely set pieces and graphics. The first couple of missions were interesting, the story looked fun, but then the core gameplay came to the fore and- oh look, it’s just another reskinned 3rd person shooter with standard ‘magic’ effects passed off with sci-fi gibberish so they can design bland stereotypical sets from various points in time. As soon as I saw it for what it was I turned it straight off and uninstalled it. I’ve played enough games over the years to know what I like and don’t like, and what will be worth my time, and games like that are just there to keep me playing, not to keep me enjoying my time playing. That’s why I always go back to a few select Bethesda titles, because they’re the games I know I will enjoy every single time I play. Other games will come and go, but Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion and Skyrim just quench my unquenchable thirst.
