I like the concept of Guardian Games a lot but I just have to put it out there that with the major differences in player numbers between classes it will always be unbalanced and at the end of the games the winners are those who take advantage of what the algorithm favors.
Titans won the first year because there were less of them and the algorithm awarded more points to them, and they ran away with it.
Hunter will obviously win this year, because they've always had the numbers and the algorithm was altered to unfavorite Titans, meaning the sheer numbers of Hunters will win out without check.
My prediction? Next year the Warlocks will win because Bungie will give the algorithm favoritism to them.
The games aren't about who's best, or even who shows up the most.
They are a way to highlight one specific class as the favorite for a year before they pick a new one.
Do I think they are doing it consciously? Definitely not.
Do I think they put enough thought into balancing a system wrought with unbalance to begin with? Maybe not.
These types of tropes are fun but they create disharmony in a world where we should really be joining together.
The only suggestion I have is maybe a daily cap on points until near the end. Maybe the last week or just 3 days there are no limits and the winners can really be revealed, but any other day the flags could end up being evenly placed upon their respective staves.
I'd like to see the games continue but Bungie has to figure out a real way to create balance and a fun, fair competition. I hate coming in every day to see one flag so much higher than the rest. I don't care what class it is, it makes the entire games feel empty to see one flag tower over the others endlessly, without hope of success despite the effort you put in on your own favorite class.

All they had to do was make each class points worth a different amount, based on numbers of players. 500 Hunters. 1 point each. 250 Warlocks. 2 points each. 100 Titans. 5 points each. But bungie had to make it overly complex. It's an interesting phenomenon that unintelligent people "solve" problems by making the situation or thing more complicated, while intelligent people simplify and streamline things in order to actually solve the problem.

Er how is it fun? It's just more bounties? What's fun about doing more of the same thing we've been doing for literal years?

Flags reset in a few minutes... good luck Guardian.
