Never lived in the country, seems like a nice life except for being far away from everything important and having zero public transport, and terrible internet. Grew up in the suburbs of a medium city. It had good public transport routes into the middle but it was a lot more green and had a more relaxed atmosphere. I liked it. Living by the greenbelt is a very nice feeling. Currently live in the middle of a small city / large town and really like it. Because of its size I don’t get lost or overwhelmed, and I’m never that far away from a nice big green space to get away from the maelstrom. I would never live in the middle of a big city like London or Manchester, I find just a day trip stressful enough I can’t imagine what permanently living there does to a person. Small towns seem uninviting to me. The only people that seem to live there are those who work out of town, and they seem to either have an abundance of one type of shop or none at all.
