The cosmodrome already feels like an empty lacklustre location with no motivation or loot to obtain but we are given on of the most boring and copy paste characters I’ve seen in a while. I feel like shaw offers nothing new to the table. With characters that have so much dynamics and backstories like the brays, the vanguard, the drifter and Eris, it seems like Shaw was a massive waste of a character. He doesn’t even get different dialogue for veteran players and treats our guardian like we a newbies too.
Personally I think the only way to fix such a bland lifeless character is to give some more backstory or lore to him, make him a vendor and offer new cosmodrome style weapons or armor, change parts of his design so he looks less like an action figure and add new dialogue for both new players and veteran players.
Doing just this to the vendor alone may give me more reasons to go to the cosmodrome rather than it be a waste of storage space. Especially the loot to earn part.

I wonder how he got promoted to his post and why Zevala tells us he values his judgement. Han clearly is impetuous if not incompetent. He doesn't come off as a seasoned guardian, more like a young soldier thrust into a position he hasn't grown into...and it cost at least two guardians' lives. I think there's character, there, at least the makings of one. As to dialog for veterans, the quest line is clearly meant for newbies. Grin (or grimace) and bear it.
