Recovery Process

So yesterday I had my wisdom teeth removed. I think the worst part of the surgery was getting hooked up to the tubes, stickers, and syringes. I dont even remember falling asleep but, I did. And when I woke up apparently I was swearing like a sailor, and I think the first words I said to my parents was "whats up mother f*ckers" Being high kinda sucked, and I dont know why people do it. But anyways, nothing hurts really, praise God, i just can tell im gonna get tired of this liquid food diet quickly. I miss my garlic bread ;~; Sleeping sucks too because I have to sleep in this certain position I'm not used to Anyways, im recovering. Thank you guys for your thoughts and prayers! • It’s a different high my man. When I got my jaw placed back in my face I woke up next to an old lady. “What did they get you for young lady?” Got a smile out of her anyways. Flirted with the nurses because you gotta. You just gotta. They have a shit job sometimes, be the bright spot in their day.

    • Ayyy Naisu! For me, I just talked more during my high. In fact, as I was bein hooked up I had uncontrollable chuckles. Like, honestly they're shoving a needle into another needle which is shoved into an artery. That's what I was picturing the whole time. I do remember some stuff as I was trippy,
talking a lot as we were preparing to go, leaving with gauze under my mask and my dads earphones in my ears listening to anime music on the car ride home, walking in the house acting as if I wasn't dizzy (I can walk pretty straight when dizzy sometimes, or at least avoid walls)
though when I sobered it was hard to recall until reminded. I looked freakin miserable in the mirror. Gauze also sucks when it forces your mouth open and making your mouth sore... And, Dunno bout the rest of y'all, but the liquid diet was awesome when it meant more milkshakes than normal!
That said, I only had three buttered waffles (technically six) and 6 raw fish with half a dish of rice and some chewy noodle veggies that came with the packaging... and soy sauce
Sleeping was also fine for me. Only took the prescribed Advil (?) like, once cause pressure was keeping me awake and I didn't have the patience to stay up all night until I finally slept. It didn't help much... They said my teeth would hurt after day two and keep doing so for about three days it didn't. Anyways good luckers on that recovery! Should take about three/four days for bleeding to stop!

    • The liquid diet sucks, but your mouth normally heals very quickly... I think it's because saliva has natural healing qualities (it's why we instinctively lick our wounds). You'll be munching garlic bread soon enough. And there are a lot of great soft foods you can enjoy in the meantime: ice cream, pudding, milkshakes... General anesthesia really is that fast. There are stories of people being told to count back from 100. They say "99... 98... 97..." then a few hours of surgery, and they wake up and say "96... 95..." Because it's Halloween, a macabre factoid... the lethal injection process uses the same drug to induce unconsciousness. If it's done properly, the prisoner literally never knows what hit him. I'm glad everything went smoothly, and hope you get well soon. 😎

            • Good thing your parents couldn't put soap in your mouth. Well I guess they could put liquid soap in. Heh heh.

People get high to escape and to experience different forms of consciousness, in case you were actually serious with that quip. Stay clear of the pain meds if you don’t need them. I was given an excessive, possibly addictive forming amount of pain meds and I didn’t need them whatsoever when I had my wisdoms removed.

                    • My parents would be so confused if I greeted them like that, since I rarely use any strong language. 😂
Sorry, all out of salt.
• When I had my wisdom teeth removed I mostly ate yogurt, ice cream, pasta, or fish. Try to only chew with the front teeth. Eat what your doctor recommends, or parents suggest. Swearing like a sailor, nice.
Avoid straws to prevent a dry socket
Liquid food? Somehow that scares me more than the needles and tubes. How long will that last?
Fades Away
• I haven't gone through the procedure myself, but I did do a bit of research on it earlier this year, back when I thought I'd have to get my shattered tooth fixed ( its right beside my wisdom tooth ). I should have warned you that they medicate you heavily for the procedure, and that you should have someone drop you off, and then pick you back up, because you'd probably be to -blam!-ed up to drive afterwards.
