Robo is exploring the city, trying to find out more about this world. He sees two people, in absurdly over the top outfits covered in golden tassels, pointless frills, and useless ribbons, following a similarly dressed older man with a cane. Once the old man reaches a stopping point the first person waves their hand and a ton of decorations appear on a nearby wall, then the second person points towards the decoration and suddenly a duplicate of the decor appears and is moved to another wall.
Robo walks up to a bystander and asks, “What’s going on? Why are they putting up decorations?”
“Don’t you know? They’re setting up for the Founding Day parade in two days! It’s the biggest celebration of the year! Even the mayor helps to set it all up!” the bystander responded, “It's rare to ever see him outside of his office, except on the day of the parade, he will be leading the main float! He’s the guy with the cane.” Robo looks at the oddly dressed man and notices someone hidden in a back alley behind the mayor.
The person hidden in the shadows notices that they’ve been spotted and disappears in a puff of steam. Robo runs over there and discovers an open manhole.
He starts to climb down the hole to find what is inside. Once he reaches the bottom he finds a set of tunnels leading deeper into the city, and he arrives in an empty room with an intricate route drawn all over a map of the city, labeled Founding Day Parade Route.
“What is this map doing here? There’s no reason for anyone to have this down h-“ Suddenly everything goes dark.
Dahlia, the same woman who ran into Robo earlier, ran towards a skyscraper. She arrived at the front door, went into the building and then towards an elevator only to stop once she realized the elevator keycard isn’t in her pocket.
“Seriously? I forgot it again?” Dahlia said, “I’m definitely going to get fired over this.” She ran back towards her apartment to try and find her keycard. As she is headed back she noticed that some of her coworkers are helping with the decorations around the city. Two people were unlucky enough to be stuck with the boss, Mr.Uall, while they set things up.
“Why does he insist on everyone wearing such a strange outfit while he’s around? It just slows everyone down,” she muttered to herself while she took a short break from her sprint. She saw Robo enter the hole across the street and decided to investigate, once he drops out of sight Daliah moves closer and waits a few moments
“Who would drop down a manhole like that?” Dahlia wonders to herself. As she prepares to leave again she hears the sound of something hitting the ground echoed through the tunnels.
“Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me,” she muttered, “I have to help.” She goes down the manhole and begins to make her way towards the back room.
