Looks Like People Really Don't Like the 'Banner This Time

I can remember a time when people would get hyped about it, but from the looks of it, it seems to no longer be the case. What changed? Fundamentally what happened to Destiny that turned its community into a vast majority of spiteful and languishing people?

 •
Fundamentally what happened to Destiny
Easy answer: They nerfed the fun. Not so easy answer: First, streamers complained that they aren't "special" if anybody can get everything in the game instead of people watching them get it first, making them feel less "special" or "elite", so they took the "fun" of D1 away by suggesting changes to the game that are only beneficial to them/people who play 10-15 hours per day with a premade fireteam (One mode raids/raid revive tokens, Masterwork cores to increase infusion costs and playtime, now "pinnacle" activities). Second, Crucibabies/pvp players complaining every single day about [insert weapon/ability/character] being "overpowered" because they lost a match. Then all the people charging money to play pvp for other people (and all the people willing to pay) made pvp "look" popular (even though more play pve), so after D1 they changed the focus of D2 to pvp/casuals by changing it to 4v4 and giving everybody the same guns (static rolls) and nerfed super regeneration. The pve parts of Story/Patrols/Strikes/Raids were the same in D2 as they were in D1, only pvp/static weapons for balance were changed. This lead to other nerfs making pve slow and unrewarding (like we have come full circle to now with one super per strike again). Third (and Fourth if you want to use the expanded Eververse later in this part), this "bounty grind" is just a busy work "game-in-the-game" to keep people flying back and forth to the tower/stuck in loading screens instead of playing the actual game. Sure, our ships are pretty or whatnot and I'm sure Tess is proud of Fenchurch's inventory, but they could have either made activities reward more XP (Example: 50k XP per strike), or they could have put a bounty tab in the menu in place of the Eververse tab so you didn't have to go pick up bounties/clear postmaster after every strike, but you wouldn't get to see the ship Tess sold you if you don't fly to the Tower 10 times or more everytime you log in, making it seem like it's a worthwhile investment/"reward". Strikes in D1 were more rewarding. I'm still waiting for a way to delete emotes from my inventory since I have no use for them. I've used maybe 2-3 shaders from Eververse. I only use in-game rewards for my ship (Zavala's Authority from strike quest) and Sparrow (Harbinger's Echo from LW). Surprisingly enough, both are D1 designs, so Eververse or most of those vehicles are not needed. Those awful armor "ornaments" are useless, considering the Sunbreaker set was a D1 set. Now these cartoon-like Finishers were added, but serve no purpose other than to take longer to kill things by stopping play and doing a 3rd person cutscene finish. So focus on Eververse is a Fourth change. That's just what "fundamentally" changed. I'm not even going to mention the micromanaging armor/materials, class restrictions, or drip feed seasons.
