Meh, some of the most fun I had was online PvP on games that were free. Not 'free-to-play': totally free, no microtransactions, no loot boxes, no Skinner boxes.
I mean if it were good it wouldn't be free right?
TF2 is free and that game is awesome though?

I mean if it were good it wouldn't be free right?
TF2 is free and that game is awesome though?
I preferred Team Fortress Classic, but you make a good point: Valve figured out how to make money simply by becoming not only the 'iTunes/''App Store' of gaming, but also figured out how to make money by becoming the Shopify of gaming, allowing the community, their own customers, to basically become a crowdsource for new content, turn customers into actual game content creators, allow them to sell the content to others and Valve just take a percentage: win-win for everyone. The game gets an endless supply of new hats, players can buy nice hats to wear in-game, creative people could make money designing new hats and selling them, and all Valve have to do is sit on a beach, earning twenty percent. Bungie should do that with the Destiny IP: let players make whatever they want and sell designs to other players, while Bungie take a cut from every transaction.
